Hello! I’m a Software Developer from Toronto, Canada and
currently based in London, UK.
After I experienced harassment at work, I decided to dedicate my
career to
making workplaces safe for women and minorities. As an
enthusiastic & empathetic engineer and public speaker, I
care about connecting people and building high-quality,
inclusive products that change unequal workplace power dynamics.
Coming from a
computer science degree
and a tech consulting background, I’m an
avid & quick learner who’s willing to jump into new
technologies and frameworks to create meaningful solutions to
solve difficult and often systemic problems. Previously at
Deloitte Digital, I managed teams and developed enterprise
JavaScript and iOS apps, working end to end with clients across many industries.
In my pivot to start-ups, I was the first woman engineer to join Vault Platform: a start-up empowering employees to report workplace misconduct. At Vault, I have an influential voice in Vault’s React Native employee reporting app and the React case management platform. I’ve turned my painful experiences reporting harassment into insights that can help others through the reporting process — inform them, protect their identity, and make them feel supported through a very challenging time.
Recently, I decided to share my story of reporting harassment publicly by speaking at women in tech events and a global conference. My goal is to break the stigma around harassment and give others the message I desperately needed to hear when I was going through it: you are not alone. I’m incredibly honoured to have recently been shortlisted for the “Advocate of the Year” award at the Women in IT Awards UK 2021.
In my spare time, I’m working to increase women’s representation in leadership roles at work. At SheSays in London, I’m a volunteer product lead creating The WEI (Women with Epic Ideas) a new learning & development app for women to accelerate their careers.
